Wellcome Collection
The Wellcome Collection’s new exhibition Play Well explores how and why we play.
Taking a looking at all aspects of play, from its vital role in the development of children, to how playing aids the formation of social bonds, emotional resilience and physical well-being, the exhibition brings together toys from all walks of life and asks visitors to consider how play transforms both the individual and society.
Working with exhibition designer Andres Ros Soto, Beam designed a dynamic lighting scheme. Adhering to the strict conservation requirements for lighting many of the featured objects, Beam added interest with accent lighting in playful colours and shape.
