More Than Human

Design Museum

More Than Human is a major exhibition bringing together art, science and radical thinking to ask how design can help our planet thrive by shifting its focus beyond human needs. The exhibition features more than 50 artists, architects, and designers. Highlights include artworks for octopuses by Japanese artist Shimabuku and a new immersive seaweed installation by artist Julia Lohmann created for the exhibition. Beam worked alongside the stunning 3-D design by MSOMA who brought together a heavily recycled, and re-used set-work design, coupled with biodegradable elements to reduce the environmental impact of the exhibition.

Our lighting design also reflected our commitment to providing high quality designs, whilst ensuring the equipment is sourced and reused responsibly. The light panels featured in the opening section were reused from a previous show.
